Casino Hotel Executives Tout Recent BITAC® Event For Organization, Quality Partners

Casino hotel executives were ‘doubling down’ on the recently concluded BITAC® Casino Resorts event lauding the show’s unique format, execution and quality partners, among other things.

The third annual BITAC® Casino Resorts took place at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch and drew praise, particularly from newcomers, who detailed how it stacked up in to other competitive industry events.

Jeffrey Realander, COO/CFO, Rolling Hills Casino, offered his thoughts.
“This is my first time here and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve been to a lot of gaming shows and they are overly crowded. You can’t get to who you want to talk to and then they seemed rushed so they’re just handing you stuff and I get back to the room and throw it away. Here it’s a little different; it’s more personal...It feels more like building a partnership with vendors,” he said.

Rachel Pike, lead front desk supervisor, San Carlos Apache Gaming Enterprise, reinforced the point. “This is the first time that I’ve come to this. At first I was a little bit apprehensive how we could have one-on-one meetings but it’s actually really nice compared to conventions where you’re hunting down tables and trying to get information. In 15 minutes you get the information you need and you can follow up later on. It seems to be working really well for me,” she commented.

Pike went on to add, “I got a lot of ideas, found out a lot of new things here and most definitely will be coming back for the next one.”

Meanwhile, executives who have previously attended BITAC® events were equally effusive in their praise of the event.

Jeffrey Duke, director, hotel operations, Agua Caliente Casinos, for example, touted its organization. “Everything is precise, you know where you got to be. It really keeps us organized as individuals and then keeping all the information in perspective. I love it, I love the way it’s run; it’s perfect,” he said.

Dennis Khanh, vp, food and beverage, Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, noted it compared favorably to a recent trade show he attended. “I like this because you have time to sit down and go over things. I’m very pleased with the overall event; it’s just great for me. The great thing is I always find something coming to these so it’s very worthwhile. I recommend it to anyone,” he said.

Beth Bloom, project designer, HBA International, detailed what she believes sets the events apart. “BITAC® is not just about the scheduled meetings, it’s also about the meetings between the meetings. It’s about the shared meals and the activities. It’s through these interactions that we build relationships and when the project and timing are right, we know who we can reach out to for products and services,” she said.

Getting more specific, Bloom called particular attention to Forbo Flooring Systems, a global supplier of floor coverings. “It was really great to see the Forbo floor products. I have not used them or seen them yet and I’m really excited to be able to use them in a future project,” she commented.

Duke, meanwhile, pointed out that a number of companies showcased key additions to their product lines. He specifically referenced Ivy, powered by Go Moment, a smart concierge for hotels. “They’ve come out with a new addition that I didn’t know about,” he stated.

Khanh mentioned that Gasser Chair Company, a designer and manufacturer of seating products, caught his attention. He particularly liked “the quality of the chair; they’re very solid.” Khanh also mentioned tableware provider Arc Cardinal and Red the Uniform Tailor, Inc. as being potential fits for his company.
