WASHNINGTON, DC–AAHOA Interim President and CEO Rachel Humphrey issued the following statement in response to the introduction of the Jobs Originating through Launching Travel (JOLT) Act of 2019:

“America’s hoteliers endorse the reintroduction of the JOLT Act, legislation that will bring U.S. visa regulations into the 21st century. International visitors to the U.S. spend $4,500 per person on average. The JOLT Act will streamline the visa waiver program, which will bring more travelers to the U.S. while maintaining necessary security and screening protocols to keep our country safe. This prospective influx of visitors will benefit the travel and tourism industries and open the door to more job creation, higher wages, and business development. We applaud Reps. Quigley and Rice for their bipartisan leadership and commitment to making the United States more accessible to international visitors.”
