CHICAGO—Oxford Hotels & Resorts, LLC, an Oxford Capital Group, LLC affiliate, is supplying more than 250 hotel rooms to the City and County of San Francisco to support efforts against the spread of coronavirus. The rooms will provide sanctuary for first responders who are fighting against COVID-19 as well as other guests seeking or requiring isolation.

“We’re proud to play a role in aiding the community by providing sanctuary for those who need it during this difficult time,” says John W. Rutledge, founder, president, and CEO of Oxford Capital Group, LLC and Oxford Hotels & Resorts, LLC. “Supplying these rooms allows for our brave medical professionals to focus on their most critical patients in their hospitals.”

With hotels being been deemed essential businesses, Oxford’s properties are able to continue to house travelers, including medical personnel. Oxford maintains strict protocols across the country around sanitation procedures that help combat the spread of viruses between guests and employees. This includes frequent sanitation of high-contact points, such as elevator buttons, door handles, reception counters, and bathrooms, which will be done by Oxford hotel employees.

“As COVID-19 continues to spread in our community and beyond, we feel an obligation to offer our support in whatever way we can to our local government in their effort to flatten the curve,” says Sarang Peruri, Chief Operating Officer, Oxford Capital Group, LLC, and Partner, Oxford Hotels & Resorts, LLC. “With multiple healthcare workers in my immediate family I see firsthand the types of daily stresses they are enduring, and knowing they have the ability to self-isolate if required to protect their own families is high up on their list of concerns.”

Oxford Capital Group, LLC worked closely with multiple departments within the City and County of San Francisco, including the Mayor’s Office, the Department of Public Health, the Human Services Agency, and the Real Estate Division, as well as UNITEHERE Local 2 union to build this partnership. The agreement includes Americania Hotel and Good Hotel. Oxford’s other San Francisco properties, Carriage Inn and Hotel Vertigo, are not currently part of the agreement.

In addition to aiding the efforts in the war against COVID-19 in San Francisco, several of Oxford’s Chicago hotels are providing up to 1,100 rooms for first responders and others in that city.
